AIR FORCE BABY!

So, we have been waiting for like a buhjillion years to get into the military and it finally happened! YAY!!!
This last Thursday we went to Jacksonville, Fl. to swear in! Awesome! the trip was about an hour and a half and we left right after he got out of work wednesday night. so we got there at about 1:00am. good times eh?
So at 5:00am we awoke and made our way over to the "swear-in place". I hung out in the car until about 12:00pm-1 o'clockish. then finally went in to watch the swearing action!
We then waited a little longer and then were directed in to a little room where about 8 guys and 2 gals marched into to enter into the air force.
they all raised their right hand and swore in declaring their dedication to our country and making an oath to protect it, family and nation! neat-o!
It was very powerful hearing those words being proclaimed so loudly by so many young ones.
Tristan was so serious. I am glad that he takes his duty seriously. He was so cute marching in! It will be fun to see how he changes after graduation from basic.
 So YaY! we are in!

Tristan wanted to go into linguistics and so he took a test called... THE D LAB... what it does is it test your skills on how fast you can learn a made up language. It teaches you the rules and then goes on seeing how proficient you are in the language with the rules and stuff.
so as we all know... tristan is really smart and speaks German like perfectly right! well he took this test and Tore it up! whoo! He did a great job. Told me he prayed before and was totally chill. So after the test they were pulled into this room and were all told their scores.
"so and so... you recieved a 72 on the test"
  "yada-yadda... an 80"
"blah-blah-blah... you scored an 88"
"and Tristan you scored a 99"
" in order to qualify for a linguist the requirement was 100... I am sorry."

Crazy! huh! His calling must be somewhere else! so we'll just see what has opened up this month for careers!

next step- we are just waiting on final details.
1. His recruiter will receive a letter in a few days with all his job options
   2. We will go in to his recruiter.
3. Look at all the jobs
4. Choose a job
5. Sign a few more papers
6. shake his hand probably
7. say thanks (I am sure)
8. and then 2 things can happen here.
a. the recruiter will know when & where Tris is going for basic and will tell us
OR
b. we will have to wait to hear from him to see when and where Tris is going.

So there we go! That is everything that we know! we love you all and hope that everything is going fabulously!
